Snow, snow, and did I mention...snow!

Well, we ended up with about a foot of snow after it was all done last weekend. It was all very cool because Sierra was also baptised last weekend and what better time to celebrate a baptism than when the Earth has just been blanketed in white. Yesterday was my last day of classes this semester and now I just have the finals next week and it will all be over. Until next semester, that is! We are all getting excited for Christmas. We are going home, to Jerome, this year for the first time in five years. As you can see in the pictures, James, Brooklyn, and the dogs were the only ones brave enough to go out into the cold. I even took the pictures from inside the house, that is why they are kinda dark.

Snow Today!

We are getting our first BIG snow storm of the season today. We should accumulate between 6 and 12 inches. So I thought I would post these pictures to remind us that snow can be fun.

Happy Thanksgiving!

We hope that everyone had a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving. We stayed home this year and I cooked a whole turkey for the first time by myself and I didn't burn or under cook it. My mother-in-law will be proud, I even boiled the carcass and made soup for the missionaries.

We have spent the last two weeks pulling down wallpaper, tearing out carpet, texturing, and painting. That was just the basement!! We are having the new carpet installed today. Yay, no more ugly, orange shag!

I also went Black Friday shopping for the first time and people are CRAZY. I mostly just watched people fight over items that they were only saving a few dollars on and spending enormous amounts of money. We saw one lady spend over $4,000 in Wal-Mart.

The kids are all doing well. Sierra had strep throat again last week. We told her to quit kissing all of the boys and she did not think that it was very funny. Tyler and James are going out on a survivor man camp out this weekend with the scouts. They are going to FREEZE! Tyler has to pitch his own tent in the dark, prepare his own meals (no pre-packaged stuff), and clean up after himself. Good thing it is only over night. :) Kayla and Sierra are busy with 4-H. They made pies and next they are sewing some aprons. Brooklyn is just hanging in there. She is struggling a little in school and that is making it hard for her to want to go.

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know "WHY" I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved and I didn't take the easy routes very often. But, I'm still around to tell stories about it.

We made it through another week. Tyler ended up with Strep and missed 3 days of school. We are keeping our fingers crossed that Kayla, James, or I don't get it. I have Monday and Tuesday off from school for Fall break and I am looking forward to it. I really need the break. Although, I don't know how much of a break it will be. I will be getting ready for an open house that I am hosting, with seven other direct sales consultants, on November 3. The kids are getting excited for Halloween. Brooklyn is going to be a pirate, Sierra a duck, Kayla a witch, and Tyler is not sure. He is at that age where he still wants to participate but is also feeling like he is too old to go. I'm pretty sure that at the last minute he will decide to go. In the pics of the dogs: Jake as always is watching TV (Evan Almighty); Charlie and Beef (one of James' engineer's dog) taking turns dragging each other accross the floor.

Well, we have had a wild week and it is not even over yet. Brooklyn got Strep throat and is doing better. I wrecked my car, long story, no one got hurt and minor damage, just enough to really tick me off for making such a stupid mistake. Sierra got Strep throat, started antibiotics and Tylenol 3, and then woke up this morning with a rash. The doctor yesterday told us that if she develops a rash then we should take her to the ER immediately. So, we took her to the ER and the doctor there told us that it was a rash caused by the Strep. There went every one's Christmas presents. Sorry! Oh, by the way Brooklyn chose her own outfit today and as you can see she got her fine fashion sense from her father.

I can't tell you how many people I would like to share this with.

Happy Fall!

It is already autumn and we had our first snowfall yesterday. Gotta love Wyoming! It has been really cold and windy here for the last couple of days. It is supposed to warm up into the 60's this weekend. Heatwave!! We are going to Martin's Cove this Saturday to do a service project cleaning up the trails and then if the weather holds, we are going to go fishing.

James and I celebrated our 12th Wedding Anniversary on Sunday. Hard to believe that I have put up with him for that long. James might see it the other way, but I think that I am easier to live with than he is. THAT's WHAT SHE THINKS!!!!

The kids are all doing well in school and making lots of new friends. Kayla and Sierra have started an after-school art program at the local art museum and they are having a lot of fun with that. Tyler is busy with Scouts and Brooklyn is studying hard to learn her sight words. I have been very busy with school this semester. I think that I have had more homework this semester than I have ever had.

I have finally taken some pictures of the inside of our house and will post more when I have them. We hope that all is well with everyone.

The lazy days of summer...

... are over. The summer has officially ended today! The kids all started school and now I have a week all to my self. WOOHOO!! I start a full-time schedule of classes next Monday, including microbiology, statistics, and women's studies. Yes, I am a little crazy. We just got back from vacation last week. We spent a week camping near Cody, in Yellowstone, and at Island Park. We didn't get to go fishing, but had a lot of fun floating the Snake River and seeing a Moose and her two babies standing about 25 feet from us. It was awesome and scary all at the same time. We then spent a week in Jerome with family. Tyler had a blast at scout camp. They had a grizzly bear walk right through camp while they were in the mess hall having breakfast. James bought a 1948 Ford pick-up and we are going to Iowa this weekend to pick it up. No, it doesn't run, but James wanted a new project. The kids are excited to be able to add two more states to their list of states that they have been to, now up to 11.

What day is it? Are you sure!

Where has the time gone? We are all moved in to our new house. Everyone is getting settled, there is an amazing feeling in the realization that this is our last move and that we are unpacking into our very own home. June just flew by and now here we are in the second week of July with school starting very soon, August 20. James, as always, has been very busy with work and I have been trying to get my Pampered Chef business up and going here. The girls are all in guitar lessons and loving it. Tyler is going to be starting drum lessons and he has also been hired on as the 'Bat Boy' for the Casper Rockies (a minor league baseball team). He is so excited he can hardly stand it. Tyler is also getting ready for his first year at Scout Camp. We have also been doing some remodeling in the house. We decided to redo the kitchen with new counter tops, appliances, lighting fixtures, and soon new paint. This then sparked the idea with James to redo the bathroom in the basement, which was a chore trying to get out all of the wallpaper. We also had the roof redone, an 80 foot pine tree removed, and 9 lilac bushes cut down. And in the middle of all this we still found time to entertain family and go to Mt. Rushmore. No wonder June flew by so fast.

Welcome to our blog!

Well, we just thought that we would start a blog so that everyone would know what is going on with us. We are getting ready to move again. We have had enough of the "holy land" (Utah) and are moving back to our life of sin in Wyoming. LOL! We are looking into buying a house, so this will be our last move. :) YIPEE!! James is going to be the District Manager for that area and I have started a Pampered Chef business. The kids are so excited to be going back, they have really missed their friends.
