Post-it Note Tuesday: Is that a car, or an enclosed scooter?

a href="http://supahmommy.blogspot.com/2009/09/post-it-note-tuesday-what-will-you-say.html" target="_blank">

I've got the condoms!

A little backstory. Every night after dinner James assigns one of the kids a job like loading the dishwasher, putting away the condiments,  putting away any leftovers, etc... Tonight James had been doing some sanding on his boat and decided to shower after he ate. Since he wasn't at the table to give out jobs, the kids started shouting out what they were going to do. Brooklyn piped up saying, "I'll put away the condoms." Tyler and I started laughing, Kayla started to blush, and Brooklyn and Sierra were left asking what was so funny.

Brooklyn turned NINE on Saturday. I can't believe that our baby is already nine. Here is a picture of her exact wish list.
I had to have her translate some of it, "I  want a green iPod Nano the one with the camera on the back,  a black skate board, a $15 gift card, a barbie doll the new mermaid one, plus a chocolate double chocolate cake with some chocolate frosting on top."

Here is what she got...

She didn't get everything she wanted, but I think all in all she had a pretty good birthday.

Can You Believe It?

This is my 200th post. That is a lot of crap really good reading and photography. To celebrate I am going to list the 200 reasons why I love blogging...just kidding! Come back. I don't think that I could list 10 reasons let alone 200. Whew!

I am, however, going to tell you about my American Idol crush, Lee Dewyze. If you have not heard him, climb out from under your rock and give him a listen. Tonight's performance of Hallelujah almost brought me to tears. Although it may just be because I am an old hormonal lady, just ask my hubby. BTW you can buy his song on iTunes, you can bet that I own it.

Please, please, PLEASE vote for him. Or don't it is your decision. Just know that if I wasn't in Australia I would be voting for this guy, although I know that even if he doesn't win he will have a very successful career. Okay all done with my plug for LEE DEWYZE.

Post-it Note Tuesday: True Confessions

I am having internet issues and not able to use the stickies...suck!

I left home for an entire week alone...I have stressed the entire time so far about things at home!

I give my super awesome hubby a hard time about being able to travel all the time for work...it is actually quite lonely. Sorry babe!

Although I did need the break from the kids before I sent them all to boarding school...which is still an option kids.

I started the training for my new job as a pathology specimen collector...I love it!

Took my first blood draw today and felt totally comfortable...I think I have found my niche in life.

Happy Mother's Day to ME...oh and you too!

The girls surprised James and I with a Mother's Day/Birthday breakfast in bed.

I found this poem over at pragmaticmom and thought I would also share it.

 Wanted: New Mom

JOB DESCRIPTION: Long term, team players needed, for challenging permanent work in an often chaotic environment.

Candidates must possess excellent communication and organizational skills and be willing to work variable hours, which will include evenings and weekends and frequent 24 hour shifts on call.

Some overnight travel required, including trips to primitive camping sites on rainy weekends and endless sports tournaments in far away cities. Travel expenses not reimbursed. Extensive courier duties also required.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The rest of your life. Must be willing to be hated, at least temporarily, until someone needs $5.
Must be willing to bite tongue repeatedly. Also, must possess the physical stamina of a pack mule and be able to go from zero to 60 mph in three seconds flat in case, this time, the screams from the backyard are not someone just crying wolf.
Must be willing to face stimulating technical challenges, such as small gadget repair, mysteriously sluggish toilets and stuck zippers.
Must screen phone calls, maintain calendars and coordinate production of multiple homework projects.
Must have ability to plan and organize social gatherings for clients of all ages and mental outlooks.
Must be willing to be indispensable one minute, and an embarrassment the next.
Must handle assembly and product safety testing of a half million cheap, plastic toys, and battery operated devices.
Must always hope for the best but be prepared for the worst.
Must assume final, complete accountability for the quality of the end product.

Responsibilities also include floor maintenance and janitorial work throughout the facility.

POSSIBILITY FOR ADVANCEMENT & PROMOTION: Virtually none. Your job is to remain in the same position for years, without complaining, constantly retraining and updating your skills, so that those in your charge can ultimately surpass you

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE: None required unfortunately. On-the-job training offered on a continually exhausting basis.

WAGES AND COMPENSATION: Get this! You pay them! Offering frequent raises and bonuses. A balloon payment is due when they turn 18 because of the assumption that college will help them become financially independent.

When you die, you give them whatever is left. The oddest thing about this reverse-salary scheme is that you actually enjoy it and wish you could only do more.

BENEFITS: While no health or dental insurance, no pension, no tuition reimbursement, no paid holidays and no stock options are offered; this job supplies limitless opportunities for personal growth and free hugs for life if you play your cards right.
