This is just for you Minetta, enjoy!!

I cannot believe that we have just over a week left in February. We have been so busy trying to get caught up from being in Florida that I have not done a very good job of keeping my blog updated. So, here goes...

James and I got home on the 7th and he had to turn around and fly to Grand Junction, CO on the 9th. He returned on the 11th and left for Spokane on the 12th. He got home Monday afternoon and will be home until next Wednesday. He will be in Denver for a couple of days, home for a week, and then off to California for a week. After that, he is hoping to be home for awhile, well for more than a couple of days in a row at least.
I took a second job this last week with Interim Health Care. I am working in one of the local long-term care facilities as a home health companion. I am excited. It is one-on-one care with a single client. I am debating whether to stay on at Menards one day a week to keep my employment there, just in case this contract runs out sooner than anticipated.

Tyler went to Spokane with the Casper Children's Chorale to perform at the All Northwest Music Eduactors Conference. He has also been working very hard getting ready for his part in the upcoming musical Lil' Abner. They have one week until opening night. He is also currently looking for work for this summer. He needs to come up with $3,000 to pay for his trip to the Boy Scout National Jamboree. I think that he thinks his dad will just pay for it, but I told him that we would give him the loan and he is going to have to pay us back. I also added, "sucks to grow up, doesn't it?" He didn't find that very funny.

Kayla has been raking in the money. She has been babysitting for a few families from church. She also turned 12 a couple of weeks ago. Man I feel old! Kayla recieved first place on her science fair project. We put together a yeast experiment that was fun. She also informed me last week that she has chosen the university that she would like to attend: University of Cambridge. I sure hope that she makes it there. We talked about how important it will be to keep her grades up. She will need the scholarships!!

Sierra took first in Young Author's for 3rd grade and gets to go to district now. She is so excited. She wants to start making jewelry to sell. I think that she is feeling a little left out, because the older kids are making money. She also wants to start reading to the residents at the assisted living facility by the house. I was telling her how important it is to do community service, especially when looking at universities. They like to see that on applications. Since she wants to be a paleontologist, she will also need scholarships to help pay for school. Sierra is going in next week for oral surgery. Same surgery Brooklyn had last year. I don't know where they are getting their extra teeth from, but it is costing us a fortune to have them taken out. Then with braces and everything else. Ugh!

Brooklyn...what can I say about this child? She finally said hi to her principal last week. He has been trying to get her to say anything to him since the first day of school. He even made a point to let me know that she finally talked to him. She got her first rose from a boy in her class for Valentine's Day. He got roses for all of the girls in class. She thought that was pretty cool.

Sounds like you are doing something right raising those kiddos!

Don't the teeth problems suck? Averie has issues with hers, the boys all have the eye problems. Always something!

Congrats on the new job! Are you enjoying it?
