I was working on my on-line classes and left to go get something started for dinner. When I came back Jake was sitting at my computer watching the screen. This crazy dog thinks that he is one of the kids.

The deer were back!

Can't believe...
...I didn't have my camera ready. A 4-point buck was just minding his own business walking past our house when the dogs went wild barking. He seemed confused about where the noise was coming from, so he walked right up to our front window. The window is tinted so we can see out from the inside but you can't seen in from the outside. I have never been so close to a live deer and thank goodness the window was between us. I am so bummed that I didn't get a picture.

Another Semester!
I started another semester this week. Only 5 more to go. I think that it is going to be much better than last semester. I am taking Developmental Psych, Human Sexuality, Scientific Study of Foods, and Photography. I was also placed on the President's Honor Roll for last semester. James has been very busy with work. He is in Denver, CO this week and will be in Williston, ND next week. Tyler got a part in the High School's production of Oliver Twist. He has practice every afternoon after school and is working very hard. Kayla has discovered the phone and now we can't keep her off of it. Sierra and Brooklyn have just been having fun being kids. They go through a ream of paper every other week just drawing, coloring, and writing stories. It has been very cold here. Our high today was 10 and this morning it was so cold that it froze the fog and looked like it was snowing. I hope that all of you are warm and enjoying your new year.

Snow, snow, and did I mention...snow!
Well, we ended up with about a foot of snow after it was all done last weekend. It was all very cool because Sierra was also baptised last weekend and what better time to celebrate a baptism than when the Earth has just been blanketed in white. Yesterday was my last day of classes this semester and now I just have the finals next week and it will all be over. Until next semester, that is! We are all getting excited for Christmas. We are going home, to Jerome, this year for the first time in five years. As you can see in the pictures, James, Brooklyn, and the dogs were the only ones brave enough to go out into the cold. I even took the pictures from inside the house, that is why they are kinda dark.

Snow Today!

Happy Thanksgiving!
We hope that everyone had a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving. We stayed home this year and I cooked a whole turkey for the first time by myself and I didn't burn or under cook it. My mother-in-law will be proud, I even boiled the carcass and made soup for the missionaries.
We have spent the last two weeks pulling down wallpaper, tearing out carpet, texturing, and painting. That was just the basement!! We are having the new carpet installed today. Yay, no more ugly, orange shag!
I also went Black Friday shopping for the first time and people are CRAZY. I mostly just watched people fight over items that they were only saving a few dollars on and spending enormous amounts of money. We saw one lady spend over $4,000 in Wal-Mart.
The kids are all doing well. Sierra had strep throat again last week. We told her to quit kissing all of the boys and she did not think that it was very funny. Tyler and James are going out on a survivor man camp out this weekend with the scouts. They are going to FREEZE! Tyler has to pitch his own tent in the dark, prepare his own meals (no pre-packaged stuff), and clean up after himself. Good thing it is only over night. :) Kayla and Sierra are busy with 4-H. They made pies and next they are sewing some aprons. Brooklyn is just hanging in there. She is struggling a little in school and that is making it hard for her to want to go.
