Karma!

Karma is finally catching up to James. As most of you know, he left for London on Saturday morning. Sometime between going through security in Casper and arriving in Minneapolis his computer was damaged and would not boot up. He was not happy since he had a six hour layover. He decided to catch the shuttle to Mall of America to find someone to look at his computer; they couldn't find the problem. He rented a cell phone to use while he is there because his won't work internationally. Guess what? There is no cell phone service at the Inn he is staying at. The TV is 13" and has only four channels. His hotel is in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by pastures. The best part: the food has been bad, really bad. Last night for dinner he ordered the most "American" looking dish, bacon cheeseburger, and it had bacon bits instead of real bacon and the burger was over seasoned so, he ate the french fries. For lunch today, they had finger sandwiches with a terrible sauce and grapes on them so, he ate fruit (he can't have grapes). Then for dinner tonight, he orderd a chicken and pasta dish that he said tasted worse than eating actual sagebrush, he didn't finish it. I was laughing so hard that I am afraid that I may have hurt his feelings. I told him that this is what he gets for rubbing in the fact that most of the time he gets to live the "high-life" when he travels. At this rate he should actually lose some weight on this trip.

My Rough Life on the Road, the truth by James

So my wife has been hogging the blog space and I thought it is time to defend myself. To start off....

This is a homework conversation we had tonight:

Me: Is everyone's homework done?
Family: Complete Silence
Me: Tyler?
Yes
Me: Kayla?
Yes
Me: Sierra?
Yes
Me: Brooke?
Yes
Me: Sandi?
Go to hell you ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Since I have been traveling quite a bit, I thought I should clarify how rough my life on the road is. Click on the underlined words to see what I mean. I will give you a little peak at my most recent trip last week in Denver at a trade conference SPE. At night I would drag myself to largest DUMP in Denver. During the day I would drag clients to lunch and dinner at the following fast food establishments: (click to see) McDonalds, Wendy’s, Burger King, and Dairy Queen.

So yes dear I live a rough life. I am not sure what I am going to do in England next week and Canada the week after.

So honey to clarify, I do live a rough life. I was not sure how to handle the nightly turn down service and the fresh homemade chocolate on my pillow at night. Just think if you were done with school you could have gone.

Love Ya------James

Happy Dapple Apple Day!

Brooklyn's class had an apple tasting party today. They got to order from a menu of apple slices, apple sauce, apple pie, apple chips, and apple juice. They also made an apple book, apple glasses, and sang apple songs. They mostly enjoyed cutting the apple to see the star inside. Oh, to be a first grader again. Be on the look-out for next month's Teddy Bear Picnic.

Brooklyn's awesome teacher, Mrs. Finch.

Lucky Number 13!

Wow, we made it. It was touch and go there for awhile. Then I reminded James of all of the things that I do for him and he reminded me that I wouldn't have any money...so here we are. LOL! Seriously, I love you babe. You are an incredible man, a wonderful father, a great brother, a loving son, and an awesome boss (did I miss anything?). Here's to achieving a 14th anniversary.
A little bit of history. This is the year that you give crysanthemums, lace, textiles, and furs. Oooh, can't wait! You know how I love the textiles.

What I Learned in School Today...

The only guarantee we have in life is that we will never benefit from our own life insurance policy.

Busy, Busy, Busy

We had another busy week. I had my first test on Monday. I passed it, which all I was hoping for. I have also passed all of my skills check-offs the first time around. James went to Denver yesterday and will be there until Wednesday. Then he is leaving for London next Saturday and will be gone until the following Sunday. The kids have already been assembling their Christmas lists. I think that they have forgotten about Halloween. Brooklyn had a grandparent celebration at school on Friday and they sang and signed "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong. I was in tears. It even got to James a little. It is so hard seeing our baby doing all of these grown-up things.

James and I went to a local fruit stand and bought some corn. It was so delicious that Brooklyn ate 3 pieces and I think she got more on her face than in her stomach.

Our neighbors moved out this week and they threw away a bunch of stuff, so the girls decided to go dumpster diving and brought home this net thing. I am not sure what it is supposed to be used for, but the girls use it to kick the soccer ball into. Well, Kayla tries. She misses most of the time. I think that she is just kicking too hard and the ball goes too high.

Life's to do list...

Here are a few things that I want to accomplish in my lifetime. Kinda like my own little "bucket list".

1. Get a degree in nursing. Who am I kidding? At this point I would settle for a degree in anything.

2. Travel outside of the country. I have been very fortunate and have traveled to many places within the U.S.

3. Get fit and lose weight in the process. Then stick with it. I tend to reach my goals and stop. Then eventually I have to start all over.

4. Get organized. I feel like I am living in constant chaos.

5. Learn to be more outgoing and get over my fear of public speaking. I am one of the 90% of people who would rather die than speak in public.

6. Learn not to say yes when I really mean NO! I am horrible with this one. I always say yes and then I wonder why I can't ever get anything done. On the rare occasion that I do say no, I end up feeling so guilty that I still don't get anything done.

7. Learn to play guitar and piano with some degree of skill.

8. Learn to dance. Any kind. Just for fun.

9. Ride in a hot air balloon.

10. Ride on a train in an expensive, private car and have fresh lobster flown to wherever the train happens to be.

11. Drive the Autobahn without fear of death.

12. Attend a major sporting event: the Olympics, Super Bowl, the U.S. Open...

13. Own a great house on the beach.

14. Watch my kids become resposible, successful, productive adults.

15. Learn to accept myself and be comfortable with who I am.

What do you want your legacy to be?

This is the weekly question posted on the Baby Tea Leaves blog.
I just want to be remembered as the rich, skinny bitch who's milkshake brings all the boys to the yard.
Not really...Ok maybe a little.
I really just want people to remember me as being kind and generous and always willing to give of myself for others. Even if that is not how you see me now, that is how I want you to remember me when I am gone. Oh, and don't throw a big party and try to pass it off as something that I would have wanted. You all know that you are really just celebrating. Don't make we visit you from the grave.

Funny Questions

One of my fellow bloggers - Lissa - had some out-of-the-ordinary questions posted and I thought they were hilariously invasive. I thought it would be funny to see every one's answers.

Here are the questions:
1. Do you pass gas in front of your spouse/partner?

2. Do you make your bed everyday?

3. Do you floss everyday?

4. Do you sleep with a stuffed animal?

5. Do you eat when you are not hungry?

6. Is your car always messy?

7. How often do you clean your bathtub and shower?

8. What is the first thing you do after you wake up in the morning?

9. When was the last time you cleaned behind/under your refrigerator?

My answers:
1. Do you pass gas in front of your spouse/partner? You betcha. If he can pass gas in front of me, then I can pass gas in front of him. Sometimes even behind him so that I can pretend like it was him. hehe!

2. Do you make your bed everyday? No, but I should because I hate getting into an unmade bed. Sometimes I even make the bed before I get into it.

3. Do you floss everyday? No. I should start...maybe tomorrow or the next day.

4. Do you sleep with a stuffed animal? No, but I do have 2 dogs and a cat that think my bed is theirs.

5. Do you eat when you are not hungry? Yes, that is why I weigh a ton. I mean literally a TON.

6. Is your car always messy? No, I figure if I am going to pay that much for a car, it better be clean.

7. How often do you clean your bathtub and shower? Never...that is why I have kids.

8. What is the first thing you do after you wake up in the morning? Get out of bed.

9. When was the last time you cleaned behind/under your refrigerator? Last summer when we had the new counter tops installed. It's not getting done again for at least 2 years, unless James does it.

I can't wait to see your answers. You can either leave them in a comment below or post them to your blog. Back to studying nasogastric tube insertions.

Well, I have absolutely no idea what to blog about. I have been crazy busy the last two weeks. I have class 3 days a week and then enough homework and reading to fill up all the rest of my week. I have also decided to donate plasma one day a week. My Hot for the Holidays challenge started yesterday. Wish me luck and don't be mad at or jealous of me when I become a hotness monster. James has been traveling every other week. This week he is in Houston hoping to stay out of the path of hurricane Ike. He is most excited about going to London at the end of the month. I am jealous. Tyler is doing well in school and is having fun participating in the Casper Children's Corale. Their choir was invited to perform at the 2009 Northwest MENC Conference in Spokane, WA. The conference had over 110 submissions from elementary to collegiate and community ensembles. Only 30 were chosen and only one children's choir. He is going to be doing several fundraisers to pay for travel expenses, so be expecting a call! Kayla is doing really well in school. She has the upper hand right now because her school decided to use a new math program this year and it is the same program that she used last year at the other school. She has also been working ahead on her assignments and turning them in early. I wish that I had her determination. Sierra is going to be TROUBLE. She has been texting with a friend from class. I think that she has sent more text messages in the last week than I have ever sent. Some of you may not know, but Brooklyn is repeating first grade this year and since the new school is using the same math program as the last school, she has already done all of the work sheets before. She feels really smart. She has also been making her poor teacher let her read to the class everyday. If truth be known, I think that she is doing it to rub it in to the other kids that aren't quite where she is. She also notice that her teacher had a tool-turn-about from Pampered Chef, so she informed her that I sell PC and that she can just order from me. Brooklyn also volunteered me to go and work in her classroom on Thursday afternoons, since I don't have class after 1pm. I don't know what I am going to do with that child. Well for not having anything to blog about, I sure rambled on and on and on.

I really don't like flying rocks!

Below are the pictures of the latest damage to James' car. We are beginning to think that thing is cursed.

This is what James saw on his way home from work tonight. I wondered what the laws are on something like this and how intoxicated or stupid do you have to be to actually do this?
